On Tuesday September 20th eircom Wholesale held a Next Generation Access (NGA) Industry engagement session in the Gibson Hotel Dublin.
42 Wholesale customers were invited to the briefing, including eircom Retail and industry bodies such as ALTO and ComReg, with a total of 36 industry representatives representing 22 customers in attendance on the day.
The team of presenters took the audience through a presentation of eircom Wholesale’s Phase One fibre rollout plans. Phase One will see fibre infrastructure delivered to over 100,000 homes and businesses in locations across Ireland by Summer 2012.
Commenting on the engagement session Chris Hutchings, MD eircom Wholesale, said “Input from our customers will be very important in helping us to successfully develop our Wholesale NGA products and processes. I was delighted at the reaction from those in attendance who welcomed our invitation to fully engage in the development of our NGA plans.”
eircom Wholesale will now organise a series of Industry workshops that will further define Wholesale NGA products and processes, and help plan further phases of the fibre rollout.
